Some Great Tips on How to Stop Snoring
When considering how to stop snoring, maybe you're not quite ready for surgery or a strange mouthpiece quite yet. That's perfectly fine, because we have some tips on how to stop snoring using natural preventative methods, and some herbal remedies and treatments instead.
The first key in learning how to stop snoring is to understand that snoring usually happens when your nasal passages are blocked and you start breathing through your mouth, and your mouth and throat are very dry. These two problems should be addressed to stop snoring.
If your nasal passages are always blocked, then your next key to learning how to stop snoring is to figure out why. Is it very dry where you live? You need a humidifier, and you need to run it all day, not just at night. Do you have allergies? You need to see a doctor, or at least try some over-the-counter medication to help "un-stuff" your nose. You can also use eucalyptus or menthol oils, available at almost any health food store, under your nose as well.
When you snore, you're making the very dry skin and membranes in your mouth and throat vibrate, and the dryer they are, the more they're going to make this vibration. So the next key in learning how to stop snoring is figuring out why your mouth and throat are so dry. Do you smoke? Or drink alcohol? Both are very drying agents for your mouth. If you cannot quit either, avoid doing so in the hours of the evening. Check your mouthwash and rinse as well, as these often contain alcohol. Switch to one that doesn't.
You might also see if you are taking any medications that cause dry mouth. Sometimes certain antibiotics or other types of prescriptions are very drying, so check with your doctor if you're not sure. If so, he or she can give you specific advice on how to stop snoring while keeping up with your meds.

What a great article. Thank you so much.
Now I know why my husband snores so much. :)
Many thanks for the advice and I shall see how it improves my problem. Invariably I snore when my sinus' are blocked and I suspect I need treatment to unblock them.
